Not all it was cracked up to be...
In fairness, and no hard feelings on SI, CM4 was not all it was cracked up to be. Everybody was excited; new engine, new look, new features, new gameplay, new leagues, new players, and new options. However, it has also brought in a new slowness. I understand that it is difficult for SI to produce a great game with speedyness that suites all computers. Nevertheless, I'm sure many gamers would have sacrificed a few details so that the game could be sped up, and more than 5 matches can be played in an hour. UEFA cup matches have proved the most annoying - every qualifying match - leaving a normal PC with a lot of work to do. Personally, I do think the game is better than CM01/02, but only marginly. CM4 tips
Selecting your first eleven:
The first thing to do upon taking charge of a club is to assess your newly acquired charges. There are a number of ways in which people commonly do this:
> Use of real-world knowledge.
> Sort by value
> Asking the assistant manager to select the team
> Assessing player attributes individually
Position Important Characteristics:
Goalkeeper: reflexes, handling, positioning, balance, bravery.
Left / Right Defenders: tackling, positioning, pace, heading, anticipation, strength, marking.
Central Defenders: tackling, positioning, pace, heading, anticipation, strength, marking, bravery, teamwork.
Attacking Wingers: passing, shooting, off the ball, creativity, pace, crossing.
Attacking Midfield: passing, Shooting, off the ball, creativity, pace, teamwork, anticipation, dribbling.
Defensive Midfield: stamina, tackling, positioning, passing, heading, teamwork.
Fast Striker: shooting, anticipation, pace, acceleration, off the ball
Target Striker: heading, shooting, anticipation, passing.

CM4 Downloads
Whilst there are no downloads available on this site, there are many that I will direct you to on the SIgames site, and other sites. So quite simply, just come here if you want easily accessible downloads without worrying about what it will do to your game. The newest download available is the CM4 Update . It has updated player transfers etc. and can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. It is definately worth downloading until CM03/04 is finally released.
Also available from the link below is an unofficial editor for CM4. Additionaly, there are 5 enhnancement packs which can be downloaded from the official site. Another important download is Mark Vaughan's Cheats and Tips . This can also be downloaded using the link below, and takes a few seconds to download, because it is a Microsoft Word download.
I will notify of new downloads when they appear on the SI site - and give my own opinion on them before you decide to download.
